We have all different addiction, for some may be drugs, alcohol, and smoking, playing games or pornography addiction. But I think the one thing that mostly everyone is addicted to it is using the internet. Spending time online through social media platforms is a great way to interact with families and friends that lives far distance. In this digital age we are caught up interacting with others through our devices instead of actually meeting and talking to them. One of President Uchtdorf quotes says, “If life and its rushed pace and many stresses have made it difficult for you to feel like rejoicing, then perhaps now is a good time to refocus on what matters most.”  I like using social media but sometime I spend too much time on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.

From President Uchtdorf quote I learn to focus on what matters the most, when we prioritize our time on what matters most we improve ourselves. We talk about in class how videos or picture can go viral and I thought that whatever we put out there in the internet we should be mindful. I get the latest news from fb rather than watching the FOX News, I think that social media information travels a very fast speed. The influence of social media has impact us both negative and positive. Too much information can be misleading, today’s technology anyone can become a publisher through the web. It is important to use critical thinking when we read an article online. One of the negative uses of the internet is viewing pornography sites, this addiction can lead to child abuse, adultery and divorce it shatters lives as it promotes devastating relationships in families. We need to be aware and take caution because we cannot stop pornography but we can stop ourselves by avoiding things that can destroy us mentally, physically and emotionally.
