Social Media platforms have replaced traditional social media of how people interact with each other. New challenges arise when we spend most of our times on the internet interacting with other people instead of real people. My psychology professor challenges us to use a social media that we have not used before. I choose to use Instagram because I see it as a trend now that my friends post things on Instagram and via them through Facebook or twitter. I was not interested at first to create an Instagram account because I thought it will be like Facebook. I later learn that Instagram are only for photos with a caption under it, so we don’t post status on Instagram only pictures. After creating my Instagram account last week I am hooked with using Instagram. I follow my friends and its fun to look at their pictures and their funny captions. Also I can see more of what my friends are doing in Instagram. Then I later join Snapchat and twitter for the first time.

These social media helps us to engage more and interact with people and its fun! A lot has changed even in a second, which we need to be aware we become dependent on technology. I depend on my phone a lot for dictionary, people I talk to and also navigation. I could not imagine a life without technology. Through Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram is a fun way to communicate with my families and friends. Social media has provided a way to stay connected to those relatives or friends far distances. I enjoy using social media is because my friends post funny video and pictures of themselves doing crazy stuff like jumping off a cliff. There are a lot of other ways out there in social media that people use to stay connected to their friends and share stories about their day.
